SMCRC is a community resource open to all.
We offer meeting space and activities – something for everyone.
Please use our contact page if you want to know details of how to hire our halls or get involved in the community activities on offer.
You’ll find details of events coming up on our Facebook page. This includes details of fundraising activities as we seek to complete the transformation of our building into a resource for all.
In June 2014 we completed the first phase of the transformation of our building. £300,000 was spent to re-model the ground floor, providing a new entrance, kitchen, accessible toilet and new stairway to the basement halls and offices. We are grateful to a range of funders for helping us with this. Since we re-opened we are enjoying these new facilities and have been able to extend the activities on offer.
February 2016 saw the completion of our second phase of redevelopment, with the installation of a new accessible entrance, a lift that connects all levels of the building, and the further development of the downstairs halls.
We are now fundraising for Phase 3, which will see the completion of the re-development of the building, with the installation of further toilets on the lower level of the building, and various other improvements to the fire alarm system, the plumbing and decoration.
